ACE in Asia Pacific, part of the ACE Group of Companies, organized its inaugural Regional Day of Community Service, during which ACE employees across the region participated in active volunteerism and raised funds for charitable organizations. During this time, ACE Insurance in Thailanddonated 100,000 Baht as well as other essential items to the BaanTawan Mai Foster Home.
One hundred and fiftyemployees from ACE’s non-life and lifeinsurance operations volunteered to visit Baan Tawan Mai Foster Home, founded by Narcotics Control Foundation. The mission of this foster home is to provide welfare services and education for orphaned, homeless or abandoned children who are considered as at-risk groups of drug abuse. In nurturing these children, the goal is to help them develop into self-sufficient and healthy adults.
On behalf of ACE Thailand, Mr.Glen Browne, Country President of ACE Insurance stated “It was a gratifying experience to have staff from both our non-life and life insurance businesses come together to help the underprivileged children in the home. We arranged a variety of activities from planting vegetables in the garden, games,and adoll-making class for the little girls. It was fun for the children and our staffalike!”
“Apart from company’s donation, our staff raised funds through a ‘garage sale’ event held in the office. All of the proceeds from the sale were donated to the Foundation which we believe will help defray the costs of supporting the children at this foster home”added Browne.
