Bangkok--3 Nov--Ogilvy Public Relations Prof. Roger B. Myerson, a 2007 Nobel Laureate for Economics at the University of Chicago, is set to visit Bangkok on November 13 as the opening keynote speaker of the 4th ASEAN event series “Bridges — Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace”. The visit is facilitated by the Vienna-based International Peace Foundation and will include Professor Myerson’s public keynote speech on “Leadership, democracy and local government” on November 13 at 2 pm at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Professor Roger B. Myerson is a 2007 Nobel Laureate for Economics and the Glen A. Lloyd Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, who has made seminal contributions to the fields of economics and political science including his work on mechanism design theory. The author of the well-known game-theory, he applied the game-theoretic tools to political science, analyzing how political incentives can be affected by different electoral systems and constitutional structures. He has worked on the economic analysis of political institutions and contributed to the understanding of the process of democratization. The keynote speech is free of charge.
