Bangkok--19 Nov--Department of International Trade Promotion Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2013 (BIFF&BIL 2013) is geared to be the platform for young Thai designers to express their creative power and capture the world market. The event, promising to be filled with a complete range of products and exciting activities from Thai and ASEAN manufacturers, will be held during March 13-17, 2013 at Challenger 1-2, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani. Mr. Vuthichai Duangratana, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, the organizer of BIFF&BIL 2013 explained, “The coming BIFF&BIL 2013 is a significant event for young Thai designers to gain knowledge and experiences in design and marketing strategies as well as to understand the market demand and find quality materials to add value to their products. Furthermore, the event will be a synergy of ASEAN fashion and leather industries in a greater dimension to display their full potential to visitors from across the globe. BIFF&BIL 2013 also helps to promote Thailand as ASEAN’s fashion hub from upstream to downstream industries.” Deputy Director-General of the DITP commented, “Young Thai designers in fashion and leather industries are more like an artist. What they lack is entrepreneurship which is very vital to become successful in the business world. First of all, they have to create Brand Awareness and build a strong Brand Positioning for their products. Recently some of the Thai branded products cannot secure their places in the global market because they don’t have enough credibility and uniqueness, even though the products are of high quality. Last but not least, Brand Differentiation is another element to capture the hearts of consumers as it can convey the product’s identity and creativity.” “Before expanding to overseas, one has to fully understand the local market. Fashion and leather products must have a strong positioning locally in order to create confidence among local and then international buyers. However, the government and private sectors must collaborate in terms of product presentation, trade negotiation and marketing activities to support them in the same direction. The Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce now hosts a monthly meeting with entrepreneurs, associations, federations, the Custom Department and financial institutions to discuss the market possibilities, demands and material sourcing”, the Deputy Director-General concluded. BIFF&BIL 2013 is featured under the theme of “Rhythm of ASEAN”, it will be a rally for synergy of designers from Thailand, ASEAN countries, and other countries across the world in order to create a new phenomenon in fashion and leather business and consistent network of relating parties in Asia’s fashion industry in order to compete in the world arena. Trade days are from March 13-15, 2013 and Public days are March 16-17, 2013 at Challenger 1-2, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, is inviting designers and exporters in the fashion, textile, apparel, garment, leather goods and shoes industries to join BIFF&BIL 2013 to express their full potential and create a new dimension of the industries.
