To promote expanding investment banking activities, Siam Commercial Bank is adding a new executive to its Wholesale Banking Group by naming Mr. Artapong Porndhiti as Executive Vice President of the Investment Banking Division. The new appointment will boost SCB's strength in financial and investment advisory services in terms of strategies and policies for corporations at the national and regional levels.
An expert in financial and investment strategies, Mr. Artapong has accumulated extensive experience in investment banking for more than 17 years. From May 2013, he will utilize his specialized knowledge to further promote SCB's investment banking activities, and will be responsible for determining strategies and direction for aligning the Bank's investment banking with the requirements of corporations in terms of financial advisory, mergers & acquisitions, financial structuring, and stock market listing.
Prior to joining SCB, Mr. Artapong served as Director at CVC Capital Partners in charge of private equity funds in Thailand and in the region. He also worked with leading investment firms, including Lombard Investments Inc., Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and Phatra Securities PCL.
Mr. Artapong earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, Australia and an MBA with honors from the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.
