‘Pam’ On-arpa Poonsapmanee demonstrates healthy vegan cooking to welcome the festival
Nestle (Thai) Ltd., Thailand’s leading food and beverage company, today organized a healthy vegan cooking workshop to deliver good health and happiness in occasion of 120th year with Thai people and welcome the Nine Emperor Gods Festival. Themed ‘Nestl? Healthy and Tasty Vegan Foods for Health From Natural Ingredients,’ the workshop introduced 3 specially-created vegan dishes: Stir Fried Long-Life Noodles, Tofu Soup and Frapp?. Not only do they taste good, all three menu items can be easily prepared at home by anybody using natural raw materials and ingredients with proper nutritional value.
The workshop invited health food guru and celebrity ‘Pam’ On-arpa Poonsapmanee to demonstrate how the healthy vegan dishes are prepared. On hand to share the secret to following a nutrition-rich vegan diet for the nine days’ duration of the festival wasKhun Taweesup Luangnateetape, Nutrition, Health and Wellness Group Manager of Nestl? (Thai) Ltd., while Khun Tassanee Sittiratana Na Nakhonphanom, Consumer Food Specialist Manager of Nestl? (Thai) Ltd, introduced the special vegan menu items prepared from nutrient-rich natural raw materials.

Khun Taweesup shared tips on how to follow a vegan diet for proper nutrition and health during the nine days’ duration of the festival. “Your daily energy intake should not exceed 2,000 kilocalories and should be distributed over 5 meal times: breakfast 20%, late morning 10%, noon 30%, afternoon 10% and dinner 30%,” he said. “Most importantly, eat a variety of food in all five groups along with grains, sesame, beans such as soy beans, red beans, mung beans and tofu as substitute for meat protein. It is advisable to take fruits for snacks. Fruits keep you refreshed and are also rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre. It is also recommended to eat mild-tasting foods — ones that are mildly sweet, not too oily and salty. The nine days of the vegan festival will allow you to adapt your life’s rhythm for a truly balanced body and mind”.
Khun Tassanee Sittiratana Na Nakhonphanom, Consumer Food Specialist Manager of Nestl? (Thai) Ltd, shared tips on the choice of diet to follow during the festival. She said, “It is widely believed that consuming vegan food helps to boost the power of life because you get nutrition from foods prepared from natural raw materials and flavoured with naturally fermented seasonings. Following easy steps to prepare vegan dishes at home will help one to control the quality by choosing the ingredients as well as the flavour to meet your taste and nutritional requirement.”
“Nestl? would like to introduce the vegan menu that is both tasty and nutritious with only 226 kilocalories of energy. It has the raw materials and recipes to ensure the right nutrients and energy intake. The menu includes Stir Fried Life-Long Noodles offering an energy of 127 kilocalories (4 grammes of sugar), 1 gramme of fat, 868 milligrammes of sodium, Maggi Tofu Soup offering 43 kilocalories of energy (1 gramme of sugar),
1 gramme of fat, 566 milligrammes of sodium and Nescaf? Red Cup Frapp? offering
56 kilocalories of energy (13 grammes of sugar), 0 fat, 5 milligrammes of sodium,” added Khun Tassanee.
