Huawei’s Asia Pacific contract sales reaches USD2 billion in 2006

Bangkok--25 Jun--Francom Asia Contract sales for Asia Pacific expected to reach USD 2.4 billion in 2007 Introduces latest HSDPA and 3G handsets and data cards at CommunicAsia 2007 Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that its contract sales for Asia Pacific grew by more than 55 percent year-on-year to USD2 billion in 2006, up from USD1.29 billion from the previous year. The company expects Asia Pacific contract sales to reach USD2.4 billion in 2007. Huawei has been steadily expanding its operations in Asia Pacific since 1996, and this region is an important market as the company continues to deepen its relationships with leading operators in the region. The company has established long-term partnerships with leading telecom operators in Asia-Pacific region and now has a presence in 17 countries across the region, with its products deployed in over 25 countries. Huawei’s total number of staff in Asia Pacific stands at 2,800 of which 68 percent are local staff.
