Bangkok--24 Jul--DTAC DTAC today released figures for the second quarter of 2007 showing a customer growth of 1.15 million for the period. DTAC’s total customer base now stands at 14.5 million. Total revenues in the second quarter increased by 39% year on year to 16.2 billion baht, due to strong customer growth and the introduction of the interconnect regime in February 2007. Excluding interconnect, service revenues grew by 7% year on year. EBITDA grew by 7%, while net profit came in at 1.3 billion baht, up 13% compared with second quarter of 2006. Chief Executive Officer Sigve Brekke said the second quarter was characterized by seasonality effects and a shift from off-net to on-net calling packages. “We remain confident about our full year guidance of a 10-15% increase in underlying revenues, excluding interconnect, by the year’s end”. “To support future growth we are standing by our commitment to invest 12 billion baht in expanding the mobile network in 2007.” “We also look forward to the possible allocation of 3G, which will supplement our nationwide EDGE network. We have now passed 3 million mobile internet users, based on monthly usage, and are bullish about the prospects for mobile internet services in Thailand.” DTAC is the second largest mobile operator in Thailand. DTAC is listed on Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) and Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
