Bangkok--14 Aug--RATCH Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. [SET symbol: RATCH] today announces its audited consolidated operating performance of the Company and subsidiaries for the first half of year 2007, ending on June 30, 2007. The Company recorded net profit of 4,189.21 million baht or earning per share of2.89 baht, increasing by 796.44 million baht or 23.47% of the net profit of 3,392.77 million baht compare to the same period last year. For the first six-month operation, the Company’s consolidated total revenue was 24,259.97 million baht, consisted of electricity sales of 22,932.51 million baht, interest income of 326.29 million baht, sharing profit of associated and joint-venture companies amounted to 432.77 million baht, and other incomes of 72.26 million baht. Additionally, the Company has received insurance claimable of 496.14 million baht from fire incident at the Flue Gas Desulphurization unit in Ratchaburi’s Thermal Power Plant Unit 1 in 2005 from the insurance company. Meanwhile, the Company’s total costs and expenses were 19,309.76 million baht, consisted of cost of sales of 19,013.89 million baht, selling & administrative expenses and other expenses of 295.87 million baht. The Company’s interest expense and income tax were 761 million baht. As at June 30, 2007, the Company and its subsidiaries’ total assets were 73,015 million baht with the total liabilities and and shareholders’ equity of 35,725 million baht and 37,290 million baht respectively. The Company’s financial policy ratio comprised of Debt to Equity (D/E) of 0.96 and Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) of 2.92. As a matter of fact, the Company has adequate source of funds in which the working capital is 12,022 million baht and retained earnings from operation is 21,258 million baht. This reflects to the Company’s financial strength. Besides, the Company has strategic sites located in Ratchaburi province, where the transmission system and natural gas pipeline are ready, easily accessible and have passed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). On top of that the Company’s managements and the project team have a long experience for electricity generation. Moreover, other project investments have been progressed with satisfaction. On June 27, 2007, the Company has commenced a commercial operation of the Valued-added Electricity Generating Project by using associated gas which in the past was burned as a by-product from crude oil process at Pratu Toa — A Field, with installed capacity of 1.75 megawatts, located at Kong Krirat district, Sukhothai province; the inauguration was presided by the Minister of Energy Ministry. For Ratchaburi Power’s Power Plant Project, the 2 units of 1,400 MW Combined-cycle Power Plants are in the progress of construction and development . The project is 89% completed and which will be operated commercially as scheduled in March 2008 and June 2008.
