It was also confident that power product exports thisyear are still going strong. “Reaching 10 million units of power products marks another proudachievement of Honda in Thailand. We would like to thank all consumersworldwide who have been demonstrated their strong acceptance and trust inThai-made power products over the past 20 years,” said Mr. Toshio Kawatsu,President of Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Mr. Kawatsu said, “The production and human resources potential in Thailandwere the key factors that drove Honda to establish our power product planthere. Then, beginning in 1987, Honda began exporting power products to morethan 80 countries worldwide. Our key markets include the United States ofAmerica and Europe. This year, we expect the sales of power productscombining the domestic market and exports to reach 1,900,730 units oraround 11,642 million baht in value. In addition, by the end of 2007 thetotal value of power product sales is expected to be nearly 50,000 millionbaht.” Currently, Honda’s power products are employed in various types ofhousehold and agricultural products, offering a better quality of life forpeople. These products include water pumps, lawnmowers, generators andboat engines among others. Furthermore, Honda’s power products exported tothe US are also certified with CARB Tier 3 (California Air Resources BoardTier 3), which is the world’s most rigid emission control standard. Thisachievement demonstrates Honda’s commitment to help preserve theenvironment. Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is the largest for-export power productmanufacturing facility of Honda globally. The plant has an annual powerproduction capacity of 2 million units, more than 95% of the parts used inproduction are manufactured locally.
