Bangkok--26 Oct--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), as part of its investor education strategy, will hold its final Money Channel Road Show for this year on Saturday, October 27, from 09:00 — 17:00 hours at the Hotel Sofitel Raja Orchid, Khon Kaen. The event involves SET and its subsidiaries, such as Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX) and Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX), together with 30 securities, asset management and listed companies, who will provide investment advice and information on new products and services. The road show is a collaborative effort involving Money Channel, a SET subsidiary, the Khon Kaen provincial administration and local business agencies, such as the Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Khon Kaen Industries and Khon Kaen Bankers’ Club, SET President Ms. Patareeya Benjapolchai said. “Khon Kaen is a province with high economic and investment potential, and a key economic driver in the North East. As of August, the province had accumulated total savings of THB52 billion, the second-largest in the region. Its securities trading amounted to more than THB20 billion during the first eight months of this year, a monthly average of THB2.523 billion. This was also the second-largest in the region, after Nakorn Ratchasima. There are currently 10 securities company offices in Khon Kaen,” Ms. Patareeya added. Money Channel Road Show — Khon Kaen will feature seminars such as The future of the Thai economy in 2008 and How to manage your money when profits, interest rates fall and deposits are not insured, and a discussion on alternatives to traditional savings, Stock-fund-options, what to invest in, in 2008. Other interesting activities include A search for stock-lovers and A search for fund-lovers where, by simply providing documentary evidence of their stock or unit trust holding, investors will receive a special gift.
