Bangkok--19 Feb--DTAC dtac has joined force with Senior Com, Microsoft (Thailand) Co Ltd and Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) to develop real-time solutions that integrate state-of-the-art 2-way SMS technology into auto business management software. The solutions can help auto business operators to efficiently reduce operation costs. The four partners also cooperated in setting up a project to support auto business operators, which is called “SSMD Entrepreneurships Benefit Program” to push for the use of Thai software in the auto industry to create added value for operators nationwide. Kaival Boonsaith, head of 3DX department, dtac's Business Division, said the use of new technology and innovations in business managements will help large and small business operators in the auto industry increase their potential and competitiveness in the industry. He said the use of new technologies is necessary because Thailand is a centre of vehicle manufacturing by manufacturers from around the world and the country has been importing auto parts and exporting vehicles for many years. To ensure that technologies and solutions for the auto industry become one-stop and comprehensive systems, dtac cooperates with Senior Com Co Ltd, which is a leading software developer for the auto industry management, to integrate Corporate SMS and 2-way SMS systems into S-One and S-One Plus applications of Senior Com. The integration of SMS technologies allows business operators and customers to check and update their information through SMS systems. At the same time, the auto business operators, especially operators of auto leasing businesses, can set up efficient bill collector systems by using PDA phones to retrieve bill data or input data on the real-time basis using dtac’s EDGE/GPRS network, which covers every corner in the country. The Corporate SMS system is an important tool for a firm with many customers in its database to broadcast information to many customers at the same time. The Corporate SMS system allows a firm to broadcast a lot of information in one sending. The 2-way SMS system is an interactive system. dtac will develop the 2-way SMS system’s interface and applications to be able to be integrated to the main solution, such as to a Customer Relation Management system or to a database of customers of a company. The 2-way SMS system allows the system to receive SMS replies from customers for automated compilation to update the data of the company. At the same time, the 2-way SMS system allows customers, who receive the SMS messages, to select services that specifically meet their demand. “dtac is the leader in both voice and non-voice wireless communications. dtac attaches importance to and supports software development for data communications in real time. The cooperation of the four allies is the synergy between IT and telecommunication, leading to a giant leap in the development of one-stop solutions for motorcycle and vehicle business operators to make most of their businesses,” Kaival said. Somkiat Ungaree, Senior Com CEO said Senior Com, which is a developer of software used in the auto industry, said his company has been developing and improving efficiency of its applications to meet all types of demands of the business operators. He said Senior Com has developed a tool, called S-One, which is a system for alerting customers of their payment due dates through SMS messages. The S-One system will retrieve information from the database of a firm and automatically send SMS of due payment notice to the customers. And the S-One Plus system allows customers themselves to check due payment dates anytime by sending SMS through the 2-way SMS system to specified phone numbers. Once the system receives the SMS from customers, it will automatically check the information and send a reply SMS to the customers. Somkiat added that Senior Com also has a system called I-One, which was developed using Microsoft applications for running on PDA phones. The I-One allows auto leasing business firms to issue bills and receipts for customers immediately at the scene. The I-One application can connect to the database to retrieve and update information in real time through EDGE/GPRS network of dtac from any area in the country. Ekaraj Kongswangwongsa, Microsoft (Thailand) Ltd’s Software Industry Development Manager, said “Microsoft believes technology is a key factor that helps all types of businesses to move ahead with efficiency and with face pace. Microsoft also supports development of applications and the use of applications of Thai software developers in businesses. So, we have established a project with business partners to promote the use of applications by Thai developers among auto business operators around the country. The project is aimed at promoting the business operators to efficiently use technology to achieve growth.” Sunti Surarat, Technology Research and Development Vice President of Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA), said “SIPA has a policy to coordinate cooperation among business allies to promote and support software development with goal to have Thai software industry developed to the same level with the international industry. So, we joined the three companies to set up this project with belief that the project will promote the use of software developed by Thais in the auto industry. The project will help auto business operators to use new innovations to cut cost and to drive their businesses ahead in fast pace and in the proper direction. This will allow the Thai industry to have stability.” dtac and Senior Com also joined hands with Microsoft (Thailand) and SIPA to set up the auto business supporting project, which is called “SSMD Entrepreneurships Benefit Program” to push for the use of technology in the auto industry to create added value for operators in the Thai auto industry. The project is aimed at helping the auto business operators to make a huge leap in increasing their competitiveness in line with the expansion of the auto industry in the future. The project has been being carried out in a form of cooperation among the four major partners to hold seminars to introduce new innovations to auto business operators in three strategic provinces, which are Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen. The seminars will be held from February 23 to May 16. Photo shown (horizontal), from left Ekaraj Kongswangwongsa, Software Industry Development Manager of Microsoft (Thailand) Ltd.
