Bangkok--12 Mar--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank has opened an International Trade Document Service Center on the premises of PTT Polymer Marketing (PTTPM) to support the international trade business of PTTPM. The service center serves as a special channel which connects PTTPM to Bangkok Bank, and the company can use the bank’s document processing service for imports and exports without needing to travel to the bank. Bangkok Bank Senior Vice President and Trade Finance Center Manager Ms. Vanaporn Covavisaruch said the bank’s International Trade Document Service Center at PTTPM is intended to provide more flexibility and efficiency to support the import and export businesses of the company as PTTPM can conveniently obtain the service from Bangkok Bank without having to leave its premises. Bangkok Bank’s International Trade Document Service Center is a one-stop shop for receiving financial service applications from the client. The bank’s staffs at the center examine the applications and required documents, and help the company to rectify any problems. PTTPM handles marketing activities for the PTTPM group and distributes high-density polyethylene plastic pellets to the domestic market as well as overseas markets in more than 80 countries, with a total volume of more than 500,000 tons per year. The company aims to be a leading marketing company in Southeast Asia in the near future. The opening of the International Trade Document Service Center is the latest co-operation between Bangkok Bank and PTTPM. Around the end of 2007, Bangkok Bank signed an agreement with PTTPM for “Dealer Financing” - short-term loans for PTTPM’s dealers of the polymer products. The loan helps PTTPM to expand sales, while dealers also have a better chance to expand their businesses. Bangkok Bank provides a complete range of international trade finance service. On the export side, the bank can support exporters at every stage of the business cycle, including receiving and checking letters of credit from their trade partners, sourcing raw materials for production, collecting payments from the trade partners, and preventing the risk of default of payment after their goods have been shipped to the buyers. On the import side, the bank can also support importers by preparing letters of credit and completing purchase orders. The bank also provides finance to help the customer maintain liquidity during the production or sales process until payment is settled.
