Bangkok--16 Apr--Spark Communications Langham Hotels International (LHI) has been awarded the First Prize for two print advertising campaigns by the jury of Das goldene Stadttor — the premier travel industry advertising awards at ITB Berlin. This marks the second time that the company has walked away with top honours following the previous first prize award for ‘The Butler’ television campaign two years ago. The creative campaigns redefined The Langham and Langham Place brands to reflect their essence and the expectations of each brand’s guest profile. Significantly, the win demonstrates that the print campaigns are world class and achieve the objective of defining both dynamic brands. Das goldene Stadttor recognises concept and creativity as well as information delivery and its impact emotionally on the viewer. They reward excellence in advertising and communication in the travel industry and are open to all cities and regions to hotels, airlines and associations linked to tourism. Brett Butcher, Senior Vice President — Sales & Marketing, said: “The re-positioning of both brands required two very distinctive campaigns to thoroughly embrace their specific customer sets. The creative is just the tip of the spear as it visually embodies the distinctive guest experience of each brand.” “The award affirms our belief that the creative should strongly reflect the brand’s personality while creatively cutting through the clutter of other hotel advertising to reach our target audiences,’ he added. Steering the project is Chandelier, a young and dynamic New York-based creative agency. As fashion advertising experts and aficionados, the team at Chandelier brings a fresh perspective to our brands, extending the boundaries of a typical hotel campaign. Langham Hotels International enjoys a heritage of winning awards for both its marketing and its high quality operations. - The Langham Auckland was voted the best hotel in New Zealand three years in a row. - Langham Place, Mongkok Hong Kong won a Top Quality Management Award at the HK Management Association 2007 - The Langham London was voted the Best Business Hotel in the city - The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa, Pasadena is a Mobil AAA Five Diamond winner and its restaurant, The Dining Room, holds a coveted Michelin Star. As a result, the company continues to expand — doubling in size in the last 12 months including two new openings in Koh Lanta, Thailand and Pasadena this year. Four more are planned to open in China in the next 12 months. LHI has also signed several Memorandums of Understanding to develop new properties in key locations around the world as investors seek Langham Hotels International’s award-winning quality management services. Brett Butcher said: “Winning awards is just the icing on the cake for an expanding luxury hotel operator. It tells our potential investors that we add essential value to their investment through quality brand management which ultimately translates into market share and a successful and profitable relationship.” For more information please contact: Nuttakan C.
