Bangkok--29 Apr--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), in conjunction with 23 securities companies, will host the Star Marketing campaign for a second year. The promotion reaches 4,000 securities firms’ marketing officers and encourages them to actively recruit investors in equity, bond and derivatives products. Prizes totaling over THB 6 million include a study tour to Japan and other benefits. The 2007 project resulted in about 20,000 new accounts from July to December, of which 16,000 were from new investors. This was due to the hard work of 4,000 marketers, which was 73% of all such employees, SET Executive Vice President-Listing and Investor Marketing Center Vichate Tantiwanich said. “Feedback from investors and marketers was better than expected and the number of participating marketers was twice our original target. Last year’s winners gained valuable experience from the Korea study trip. This year there will be more prizes with more opportunity for marketers to participate,” Mr. Vichate added. This year’s Star Marketing started on April 1 and will run until December 31. There are seven prize-winning categories: 1) Top Broker for the top marketers in all products from each securities firm; 2) Top 20 Marketer for the top marketers in all products across all securities firms; 3) Lucky Star for 50 lucky marketers who score more than 10 points; 4) Top Wealth Creation Star for marketers whose clients’ portfolio values have increased the most (based only on securities which have been researched by Securities Analyst Association); 5) Fastest Star for the 50 marketers who gain the most new accounts in all products, but more than 25 accounts; 6) BEX Star for the three marketers with the highest score in bond marketing (above 50 points); and 7) TFEX Star for the three marketers with the most points in derivatives marketing. As well as the Japan study tour, prizes include gold necklaces, cash prizes, Single License and Stock Options training courses and a marketing seminar. Star Marketing will benefit both investors and the securities firms. While investors will receive improved services, the securities firms will have better skilled marketers who are up-to-date on new products and services and able to provide sound investment advice. Thailand Securities Institute (TSI) will offer training to all participants,” Mr. Vichate concluded. For more details about the program, please visit www.starmarketing.set.or.th or call 0-2229-2222.
