ข่าวท่องเที่ยว Monday May 12, 2008 15:42 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--12 May--Hill & Knowlton DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, has won for the fifth consecutive year the prestigious Gold Award in the ‘Express Service’ category at the 10th annual ‘Trusted Brand Awards 2008’, organized by Reader’s Digest. This award comes in addition to the three Platinum and four Gold awards garnered across other six Asian countries surveyed. The prestigious award wins further strengthens the DHL brand equity as consumers clearly associate the company with attributes that are of utmost importance to them — trustworthiness, credibility, quality, value, understanding their needs and innovation. “This award reflects DHL’s strong commitment to its customers and demonstrates that by listening to our customers and, very importantly, understanding and meeting their needs, we have enhanced our brand value and fulfilled the DHL brand promise of going all the way for them,” said Mr. Boonkerd Silpavechakul, DHL Express Thailand’s Acting Country Manager. ”We are very motivated by this strong vote of confidence, and we will continue to ensure that DHL provides our customers with best-in-class products and services whether in Thailand or anywhere else on the globe where they have come to trust and expect the best from DHL.” Besides the Gold Award received in Thailand, DHL received the Platinum Award in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as the Gold Award in India, Malaysia, Philippines and Taiwan in the same category. The Platinum awards in Hong Kong and Singapore are repeat wins; Hong Kong for the fifth year running and Singapore for the second successive year. Also, the company has been honored with an Asia Platinum Award for the fourth consecutive year. In each category, the Platinum Award — the highest honor conferred on a brand in the annual survey - will be conferred on brands with a rating score three times higher than that of the nearest competitors. The Gold Award will be presented to brands which achieve a minimum of fifty percent vote from the respondents. Respondents who took part in the survey, through email and telephone interviews, nominated their most, single trusted brand. DHL’s excellent showing in the survey shows that its brand name registers top-of-mind awareness among consumers. DHL attributes this appeal to its strong brand presence, extensive network infrastructure, and the active community activities that it regularly and consistently supports in these countries and beyond in Asia Pacific. Launched in 1999, the annual Reader’s Digest Asia Trusted Brands Awards aims to identify the brands that appeal most to affluent Asian consumers. Covering 42 categories of products and services, the survey is carried out in seven key markets across Asia — Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines — and polls thousands of consumers in each market through questionnaires and telephone interviews.
