Qantas Airways was honoured at the 19th Travel Trade Gazette (TTG) Travel Awards ceremony in Bangkok with the Best Pacific Airline Award. The award is given to the most outstanding performer who has shown strong commitment towards service excellence in the Asia-Pacific travel industry.
Qantas, Regional General Manager South East Asia, Stephen Limbrick, said, “Qantas is proud of our tradition in maintaining customer service excellence. Receiving the ‘Best Pacific Airline’ award for the third year in a row is recognition of our continued efforts. The 19th TTG Travel Awards 2008 Ceremony and Gala Dinner is held annually and organised in conjunction with the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA), and Corporate Travel World Asia Pacific (CTW) event.
Qantas Airways was nominated by readers of Travel Trade Gazette Asia (TTG Asia), Travel Trade Gazette China (TTG China), Travel Trade Gazette Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and Exhibitions (TTGmice), and, Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, Exhibitions and Business Travel China (TTG-BTmice China).

Heralding the new era of travel for Qantas, the world’s most experienced airline took delivery of its first A380 aircraft in a moonlight ceremony in Toulouse on 19 September 2008. Following its inaugural service on 20 October 2008, the first service from Sydney to Los Angeles will operate on 24 October 2008. Qantas will take delivery of three 450-seat A380s by the end of 2008, eight by the end of 2009 and will have 20 aircraft in service by the end of 2013.
