Clarification on THAI Cabin Crew arrest in Japan

Bangkok--27 Oct--Thai Airways International The Corporate Communication Department of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited provides the following clarification on the reports in some media on a THAI cabin crew being arrested in Japan for alleged possession of drugs: On 27 August 2008, a male cabin crew was arrested in Narita airport by Japanese police for possession of drug. The case is still under investigation by the Japanese police department. A lawyer has been appointed to defend the THAI cabin crewmember. THAI considers such a case as personal action. Should the Japanese court find the arrested cabin crew guilty of wrongdoing, he will be dismissed immediately from the company according to THAI’s policy, rule and regulation. THAI always emphasizes to all of its cabin crews and employees that possession of drugs is strictly prohibited.
