Robert J. Lohrmann has been appointed as the Vice President and General Manager of the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa / MVCI (Marriott Vacation Club International) Phuket Beach Club and the recently opened Mai Khao Beach Club.
A Native American, Mr. Lohrmann was most recently the Managing Director of the JW Marriott Beijing and the Ritz-Carlton Beijing where he successfully orchestrated the opening of these two flagship hotels. The JW Marriott Beijing was Marriott’s 3000th hotel worldwide.
Mr. Lohrmann has been with Marriott for twenty five years. He has spent the last ten years in Asia including two years as General Manager at the JW Marriott in Seoul, Korea. Prior to this he served in China as opening General Manager at the Marriott Hongqiao, Shanghai and opening General Manager for the Sanya Marriott Resort & Spa. His prior International roles include postings with Marriott in Amsterdam and Cairo. He has also worked for Disney in Paris and Hilton, under the Conrad brand, on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Robert brings a wealth of international, operational and Resort experience to his new position. The award winning JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa is a growing and complex operation and was recently re-branded as a “sophisticated family resort”. The Resort comprises of a variety of luxurious rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, a variety of Recreation options, retail offerings and extensive corporate programs.
