Bangkok--1 Dec--Patravadi Theatre Whereas Butoh is described by some as the ‘dance of darkness’, photography, the art of capturing the light, seems to be its odd but almost natural partner. Patravadi Theatre is pleased to host Israeli photographer Boaz Zippor’s exhibition “Butoh”, which displays a series of figurative photos depicting the beauty and mystery that airs around this Japanese dance form. Born in Israel and educated in Italy, Boaz Zippor was founder and managing director of several multimedia and design companies before concentrating full-time on fine art photography. He now runs a photography studio and private gallery in Sapan Kwai. Butoh, being an allusive art form, which not unlike a Rorschach test, provides a personal experience to each viewer, is represented in the photographs in its purest form, not forcing one conclusion or another, but leaving space for the imagination and the utmost personal point of view. The exhibition “Butoh” will be held at Patravadi Theatre Gallery from 3rd December 2008 until 3rd January 2009. Opening ceremony — 3rd December 2008 - 20:00 Event: “Butoh” Photo Exhibition Photographer: Boaz Zippor Venue: Patravadi Gallery Duration: 3 December 2008 — 3 January 2009 (10am — 6pm daily) Press contact: Toby To (International Programme Director, Patravadi Theatre) 02412 -7287-8 [email protected] Boaz Zippor 0898948288 [email protected]
