The newly crowned beauty queen who took a crown as the winner for the title of Miss Thailand 2008 was Ms.Panprapa Yongtrakul, the 3rd year college student of Chulalongkorn University’s medical science at the recently Miss Thailand 2008 contest at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon.The real beauty won with intelligence answer on the final question in which her national budget allocation was for the education development, especially to the remote areas. Since education is an essential fundamental for national development.
This year contest was co-organized by MCOT Public Company Limited and Old Vajiravudh Students Association Under His Royal Patronage with the fabulous ‘Intelligence in a Beauty’ reality concept. Since the beginning, about 400 applicants entered to the contest and rounded up to18 finalists for camping and cultural activities in Sukhothai province in which beauty fans were witnessed their charming on Modern 9 television channel. Until the final round came up, VIPs guests gathered in a cocktail reception including M.R.Benjapa Krairiksh, Khan Prachuabmoh, M.L.Jiraseth Sukhasvasti, M.L.Nandhika Varavarn, Jittima Wattanasin, Songkrot Palakawong Na Ayuthaya and many more. Thousands of fans also joined to cheer up their favorite beauties with carry-on neon lighting.
Opening program, 18 Miss Thailand contestants appeared on the stage with very attractive short and long evening gowns. Later on, thinking that you were in paradise when 10 candidates were selected and led by the famous singer James-Ruangsak Loychoosak sang the song on ‘Nang Pha Jum Leang’ which received a lot of big hands of over thousands audiences. Then, there was the announcement on Miss Beauty Skin — Panprapa Yongtrakul No17; Miss Think Positive — Saowalak Phromson No15; Miss Healthy — Panprapa Yongtrakul No17; Miss Friendliness — Pimpitcha Autsawaphongsukitta No10; Miss Personality and Miss Photogenic — Chalotorn Chaichompoo No16; Miss Popular Vote — Pichaya Phongcheep No3. Once again with the excitement on 3 finalists on stages for interview session, the 3 finalists were Wannakorn Kongmuang No18, Chalotorn Chaichompoo No 16 and Panprapa Yongtrakul No17, with the same question on national budgeting allocation if you were one of decision makers. Finally, the time we awaited for, the winner announcement was for Ms.Panprapa Yongtrakul No 17.
Ms.Panprapa Yongtrakul, the 20-years old medical science who was crowned Miss Thailand 2008 said ‘I was excited while being on stage, however I tried to compiled myself and concentrated on answering the question. I was so thrilled and honor to earn this crown and during the year of being crown, I will encourage teenagers for better understanding on the elders and well-care for them. At least it will help to strengthen the bond within families which will lead to unity for the whole nation.’
