Bangkok--3 Dec--Thana Burin Asia Pacific
Qantas will operate a third relief flight between Phuket and Singapore in the early hours of Thursday 4 December.
The Chief Executive Officer of Qantas, Mr Alan Joyce, said the airline operated its first relief flight earlier today and a second flight would operate early tomorrow morning local time.
“Nearly 300 people travelled on the first Qantas A330-300 flight from Phuket to Singapore last night,” Mr Joyce said.
People must register for the special flights by calling the following numbers:
Bangkok - +66 (0) 2627 1800 or
Australia - +61 (0) 3 9834 6826
Passengers will check-in for the flight in Bangkok and then be bussed to Phuket. People presenting at Phuket Airport will only be considered for travel if seats are available.
Mr Joyce said Qantas would continue to liaise with the Australian Government on the situation in Thailand.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and assessing options to operate further flights should they necessary,” he said.
