The winner of the Honda Amateur Tournament Round 5, held at Chiangmai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort, is Khun Chawis Taeprajit. K. Chawis won the chance to join Honda LPGA Pro-Am Day 2009. On the Saturday November 22nd, Honda Auto mobile ( Thailand ) hosted the final round of the Honda Amateur Tournament at Chiangmai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort. The Honda Amateur series was held to promote the LPGA’s Honda LPGA Thailand 2009 which will held February 26th through March 1st at Pattaya’s Siam Country Club Plantation Course, designed by Schmidt Curley.
The Honda Amateur Tournaments were held for amateur golfers in Thailand hoping to get close to the famous LPGA at Honda LPGA Pro-am Day. Honda selects one winner from each event for a total of five golfers earning the chance to play alongside LPGA Professionals. The Honda LPGA Pro-am Day will use a Callaway style scoring system making the round competitive for everyone. Many golfers joined the qualifying tournament at Chiangmai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort situated in the beautiful mountains east of Chiangmai. The course set up made golfers concentrate and focus on course management to negotiate the exciting layout at Chiangmai Highlands. The golfers and Honda’s executives enjoyed a terrific meal following their round making the entire day memorable.
Furthermore, Khun Phitak Pheukthisarikorn (President of Honda Thailand), Khun Oranuch Pheukwatthananon (PR Manager) and Khun Praphat Cheuychom (Sales & Marketing Manager) presented golfers with their awards and tournament souveneirs.
Khun Chawis Taeprajit, a 13 year old junior golfer from northern Thailand held top honors for the final round with a score of 4 over 76. Khun Chawis earned his chance to play alongside the LPGA pros with a solid round of golf making few mistakes during his round. Second place went to Khun Chaiporn Chorhuad and Khun Sudsiam Chanthathip earned 3rd.
