DHL enhances customer service standards with new web-based shipping tracking solution

Bangkok--22 Dec--Hill & Knowlton DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, announced that it has further enhanced its customer service standards with the launch of DHL ProViewTM, a web-based tool that provides customers with real time shipment tracking and monitoring. DHL ProViewTM is an online shipping tool that allows customers to track shipments in real time at all stages of delivery from anywhere in the world. Instead of airway bill numbers, shipments are tracked and monitored using designated account numbers. Customers receive proactive updates on their shipments activity — when they have been delivered and picked up - via email alerts or SMS messages, resulting in better control of their shipments and visibility. The introduction of this service offering in Asia Pacific follows the successful launch in the U.S. in 2006. It is available for free to all DHL Express International, Road Express and Domestic Express customers. Up to 1,999 different shipment accounts can be registered for one person. One customer account can be tracked at the same time by different users. ProViewTM is among several other online tools that DHL has launched in recent years. In October 2007, the company was the first in the industry to launch a patented electronic service — DHL eMailShip in Thailand and across markets in Asia Pacific that enables customers to file their shipment details electronically. The service allows airway bills and other required paperwork to be prepared offline using the Adobe Acrobat PDF or Microsoft Excel format, and submitted to DHL via email.
