Siam Retail Development Company Limited, the operator of Fashion Island Shopping Complex, joins Toys R Us, a key distributor of world’s toys, in creating Toy World packed with fun and games during Children’s Day Festival from Friday 9th through Sunday 18th of January 2009.
Mr. Prasert Sriuranpong, Executive Director of Siam Retail Development, said Toy World will take up more than 1,000 sq. m. space on first floor’s Fountain Ground. The Fair will bring in not only the family joy but enjoyable toys knowledge as well. Special promotional prices will be on offer during this 10-day event. On top of this, the Island Card Holders will receive an exclusive non-purchasable giraffe doll worth 395 baht for free with every 1,500 baht purchase of Toys R Us products.
“Toy World will be Fashion Island’s first special event of 2009. We plan to offer a variety of events each and every month throughout the year with different concepts and contents to please every customer group” said Mr. Prasert.
According to Mr. Manit Lertsakornsiri, Country Manager-Thailand for Toys Retailing (Thailand) Company Limited, knowledgeable skills development from enjoyable toys is always its core value and in this Toy World would arrange into six edutainment zones with wide varieties of fun and games in different kiosks. Toys R Us’s six edutainment zones will comprise an open-air sports and toys zone, two different game-zones, boys’ toys and educational toys zone, girls’ toys zone, Rubik and bubble games zone, and Lego zone.
“Highlights of Toy World Fair will be the exhibition of collective toys from Thailand’s toy-collectors, the first of its kind. We would like to encourage parents to bring their children to the fair since such an opportunity like this is rarely held. So don’t miss it” concluded Mr. Manit.
Collectors’ toys in the exhibition are between 20-30 years old and come in six collections: Saint Seiya, Doraemon, Batman, Godzilla, car miniatures, and cartoon dolls from world renowned movies.
Entertainment in Toy World includes show from Mr. Kittikorn Tangsujarittham who is Thailand’s Rubik Champ and second runner-up at Asian Rubik Championship 2008, magical show from national young-magician championship, performances from the Boukenger Gang, as well as the all time favorite games such as Tumbling Tower, Lego Builder, Bingo, 4D Wiz, Hot Wheel games, Keroro and Bozo, and more. Not to mention one of the girls’ best friends — the Barbie dolls.
