Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. reports to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the Company’s Board of Directors approved the Extension of Operation and Maintenance Agreement of Ratchaburi’s Thermal Power Plant and Combined-Cycle Power Plant between Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon, the Managing Director of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. revealed that the Company’s Board of Directors, at the Meeting No. 16/2008 on December 15, 2008 approved the extension of Operation and Maintenance Agreement of Ratchaburi’s Thermal Power Plant and Combined-Cycle Power Plant between Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Co., Ltd., the Company’s subsidiary and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Furthermore, the extension of Operation and Maintenance Agreement is effective since January 1, 2009. The expiry of this agreement for Thermal Power Plant Unit 1 and 2 is in October 2025 and Combined-Cycle Power Plant Block 1 and 2 is in April 2027 whereas Combined-Cycle Power Plant Block 3 is in November 2027. However, the agreement allows the revision of its terms and conditions to be made every 6-year period.
Moreover, the service fee in operation and maintenance of Ratchaburi Power Plant has total transaction value of 16,502.29 million Baht, which would be monthly paid at 75.65 million Baht. As a matter of fact, the Board of Directors agreed that EGAT has the expertise in power plant’s operation and maintenance and its part performance has been at satisfactory level.

Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. was founded on March 20, 2000 with registered paid-up capital of 18,275 million Baht, which Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. holds 99.99% stake. As its main business is to generate the electricity power, its power plants are located in Ratchaburi province, which has two units of Thermal Power Plant and three blocks of Combined-Cycle Power Plant with total installed capacity of 3,645 MW. Ratchaburi Power Plant relies upon natural gas from Yadana and yetakun fields in Myanmar as its main fuel. For total asset as of September 30, 2008, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. recorded 52,478 million Baht.
