Fashion Island and Toys R Us organize an exhibition of toys from around the world in Toy World

Bangkok--15 Jan--Siam Retail Development Introduction of Thailand’s very first classic toy-collections Lots of fun and games during January 9-18, 2009 Siam Retail Development Company Limited, the operator of Fashion Island Shopping Complex, joins Toys R Us, a key distributor of world’s toys, to organize Toy World, the fun festivities commencing Children’s Day through Sunday 18th January 2009. Mr. Prasert Sriuranpong, Executive Director of Siam Retail Development said Toy World at Fashion Island will occupy more than 1,000 sq. m. space on first floor’s Fountain Ground and will be packed with impressive fun and entertaining knowledge for every family member. Special promotional priced toys will be on offer during this children festivity. Island Card Holders and visiting customers on January 9th will get a privilege of free exclusive non-purchasable giraffe doll worth 395 baht with every 1,500 baht purchase of Toys R Us products. “Toy World is Fashion Island’s first special event of the year. We plan to offer a variety of events each month throughout 2009. Different concept with different content will be catered for family pleasure.” added Mr. Prasert. According to Mr. Manit Lertsakornsiri, Country Manager for Toys Retailing (Thailand) Company Limited — the distributor of Toys R Us products, talked of Toy World “There are six edutainment zones filled with excitement and joy in every kiosk. Fun, games, and skills will develop in harmony with each other, in line with our core concept and value — the knowledgeable toys” Six edutainment zones comprises an open-air sports and toys zone, two different game zones, boy’s toys and educational toys zone, girls’ toys zone, Rubik and bubble games zone, and the imaginary world of Lego zone. “Highlight is the exhibition of collective toys from the country’s leading collectors. We invite parents to bring their children to Toy World since a rare opportunity like this is the first of its kind, and not to be missed out.” concluded Mr. Manit. Collectors’ toys in the exhibition are from 20 years old up to more than 60 years old coming in seven valuable collections: 1) Saint Seiya collection featuring original figures produced in Japan in 1987 — the year it was televised. 2) A rare Japanese production robot collection. 3) Godzilla collection, the production by Bandai and Billiken of Japan, highlighting on two 80 cm. height Godzillas. 4) Doraemon collection presented by the winner of Fan-Phan-Tae TV program. 5) Mask Rider collection from the originate source in Japan. 6) Original Batman collection with highlights on the 4” Batman figure produced in 1940 — the year of its launch, and Batman poster with autographs of 14 actors — the one of the world’s 10 autographed Batman posters. 7) A huge collection of 1,440 iron car models. “In addition we have imported the Monopoly games from around the world to put on show. Youngsters will find out why the game is so popular regardless of time.” said Mr. Manit. On the entertainment side, there are shows from Mr. Kittikorn Tangsujarittham; Thailand’s Rubik Champ and the 2nd runner-up at Asian Rubik Championship 2008, Magical shows from national young-magician championship, a number of all time favorite games such as Tumbling Tower, Lego Builder, 4D Wiz, and Toys R Us’s gigantic 165 cm.
