Multi-pronged campaign aims to heighten the hospital’s success on “Journey of Care”
After three decades on its “Journey of Care”, Samitivej today announced a multi-pronged campaign to make its 30th anniversary celebration more meaningful to all stakeholders while easing customers’ financial burden during economic hard times. The campaign is led by the medical fee freeze plus 30% discount on room for in-patients, effective from January — June 2009.
Mr. Raymond Chong, Managing Director and CEO of Samitivej Public Company Limited, said: “Samitivej has travelled a long way on its Journey of Care. Throughout the past 30 years on this road, we have strongly kept our promise to be the lifetime companion of customers in Thailand. That’s why Samitivej has today become a leading private hospital not only in Thailand but also across the Southeast Asian region, as confirmed by many regional awards we have won. Looking ahead, we believe that our lifetime companion promise will continue to lead the way.
Dr. Somsiri Sakolsattayadorn, Samitivej Sukhumvit’s Hospital Director said “To make this celebration even more meaningful, we have designed a special campaign that reaffirms our commitment to the economy, our customers, employees, all concerned parties as well as the country’s healthcare industry.”
Effective from January until end of June 2009, Samitivej’s customers will continue to enjoy the same medical fees for all treatments and care at the hospital. Samitivej first introduced the medical fee freeze policy in the beginning of 2008 when the sign of economic hardship first appeared. In order to help ease financial burden of its customers, the policy will be maintained throughout the celebration period.
The hospital will also continue to invest in new technologies in order to complete its “hospital without wall” mission. Samitivej has introduced and integrated various information technology systems since mid 2008. This allows hospital staff members to retrieve, share and distribution information about patients and hospital services within a few clicks on computers and portable devices. Patients and visitors can also enjoy easy access to information and entertainment at Samitivej. The Digital initiatives are such as Infotainment, IP-Phone, I-Care. In 2009, the IT systems will be even further developed and integrated for greater convenience and efficiency.
Samitivej’s commitment to its employees and staff members also remains strong. The hospital’s management confirmed that employment will remain intact despite predicted economic downturn. There will be no retrenchment. On the other hand, the company will even invest more in people’s development to enhance their skills, knowledge and job satisfaction as well as to broaden opportunities for career path.
On the public health care industry development, Samitivej has confirmed that its supports would continue. Preventive medicine and education will be promoted even further to support sustainable development of Thai society. The hospital recently signed an agreement with the People Development Association (PDA) to act as the medical partner to the latter’s sustainable community development programs. Regular seminars and health and medical related activities and campaigns will be held regularly to educate the public and to share Samitivej’s medical expertise with people in the medical industry.
“Being successful throughout the past three decades is not easy. It takes everyone’s shared commitment, strong will, and dedication to realize. We do have all these and we are ready to expand on our commitment and missions to bring greater benefits to our stakeholders,” Mr. Chong stated.
