Prof. Dr. Apinan Poshyananda, Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC) Director-General, Ministry of Culture is conferred Stella Della Solidarieta’ Italiana, Cavaliere (Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity- Knight) by the Italian government due to his work has given special contributions to Italy during his consecutive 6 years at the office.
Prof. Dr. Apinan Poshyananda is the first Thai ever who has supported and encouraged Thai artists in different fields such as painting, sculpture, installation, performance to display their works in the International Art Exhibition la Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) in 2003, 2005, 2007 and the upcoming in 2009. As a result, the Italian government has recognized his special contributions to Italy.
The decoration will be conferred at the Italian Ambassador’s residence in Bangkok on 11 February, 2009.
