Ministry of Energy confirm support
POWER-GEN Asia 2009, the premier conference and exhibition for the power generation and transmission and distribution industries, will return to Bangkok, Thailand, who last hosted the event in 2007.
From 7th — 9th October 2009, POWER-GEN Asia will receive over 6,000 industry professionals, who will gather for 3 days to enjoy the industry’s leading conference and experience the latest developments and ideas for the future of the Asian power generation sector.

Launch of Renewable Energy World Asia
Inspired by the successful Renewable Energy World events in Europe and North America, and supported by Renewable Energy World magazine, PennWell is delighted to announce Renewable Energy World Asia.

Strengthening Energy Security for Sustained Economic Growth
Thailand’s 2007 Power Development Plan forecasts demand to increase from 26,235 MW in 2010 to 46,481 MW by 2020, with approximately 50 per cent to be delivered by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and 50 per cent from IPPs.
The Government exploring new opportunities from coal and gas to renewables and nuclear and is one of the first countries in Asia to have a policy to encourage generation of power from renewable energy. In order to sustain economic growth, energy security to support the developing markets must be strengthened.

The Ministry of Energy for Thailand has confirmed its support towards POWER-GEN Asia, along with the Independent Power Producers Forum (IPPF).
South East Asia is one of the fastest developing regions in the world and its appetite for energy is growing at an astonishing rate. Recent estimates are that over US$50 billion investment is required in the region, in order to meet the growing demand for power.
The POWER-GEN Asia conference is a key forum for senior executives and industry leaders to discuss a range of topics, from the region’s energy markets, resources and environmental challenges to power plant generation technologies and operating & servicing plants, in order to meet the challenge of the growing demand for electricity.
