The Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University, graciously invites you to experience the vintage romance of “Vimarn Maya” from August 28th — September 6th at Chulalongkorn University Auditorium.
“Vimarn Maya” will mesmerize you with the story of a love that is so powerful and untainted nothing can get in its way. Pongpol, a wealthy man who is willing to sacrifice everything for love, finds Thongpleaw, a street girl, who is ready to believe in love and hope - for the future of a better a living.
Under the aura of chastity and romantic innocence of the past, where the ideal way of life and the innate needs and wants of a soul have different paths, what will be the final outcome? Will the ultimate wish of a person really be as beautiful and surreal or just an illusive imagination waiting for us to be hypnotized?
Join us on this journey and experience the undying love between these two lovers. See for yourself how this story will unfold from August 28-30 and September 4-6 at 19:00 at Chulalongkorn Auditorium. Additional matinees showings will be on Saturdays and Sundays at 13:00. Synopsis
The story of “Vimarn Maya” begins when Pongpol, a young man with both good looks and wealth, decides to leave his bride on their wedding day because he has fallen in love with Thongpleaw, a street girl. Despite being total opposites, both Pongpol and Tongpleaw are determined to build "true love".
Unfortunately, their impossible love is being questioned and pressured from every direction, especially from Pongpol’s mother, Mrs.U-sa. She raised Pongpol to be a true gentleman. Thus, she will try every possible way to put her son back on track, including taking Tongpleaw out of his life.
Will they be able to get past these obstacles? Will their “love” be what they pictured and hoped for? Or will it be just an illusion?
