This proactive project’s key objective is to bring a wide variety of services that help relieve the difficulties; which include official documentation services; to Thai people throughout the country and to gain a good understanding between the government, Big C and the locals. Ms Jariya Chirathivat, VP, Marketing & Communications, Big C SUPERCENTER PLC stated ‘Big C Brings Smile To Thais’ mobile service unit is the first hypermarket given a great opportunity to join with the project ‘Relieve Difficulties, Fill Up On Happiness; and Broaden Smile of the People’ by the Ministry of Interior with the objective of bringing wide variety of fundamental services to Thai people in a form of mobile counter service unit locating in Big C branch which is called ‘Amphor Yim’ (Smiling District Office). ‘Big C Brings Smile To Thais’ has already visited 10 Big C branches and is extending to other branches throughout the country. ‘The recent Big C Brings Smile To Thais mobile service unit was operated in three pilot provinces; Petchaboon, Rajaburi, and Ayudhaya; to bring a wide variety of services including official documentation services to Thai people throughout the country and to gain a good understanding between Big C and the locals’, added Ms Jariya. ‘Big C Brings Smile To Thais’ mobile service unit also brings in social responsible activities e.g. environmental conservation, good rapport development in various forms of entertainment between all parties; and also arranges publicity for Big C in making a contribution to the communities its branches located at especially the giveaway of Big C consumer goods for the locals. The unit is locating in each district every month to provide the locals official documentation services e.g. citizenship, lands, labor; also included are health care services, transporter license extension, plumbing, electricity, petition, legal advices, poverty resolution, profession advices, etc. Apart from ‘Amphor Yim’, Big C has joined the Blue Flag Project by Ministry of Commerce to offer people save priced consumer goods.
