Thailand’s Market for Alternative Investment (mai) will list Moong Pattana International PCL) as its seventh listed company on mai this year. The firm starts trading on October 1, using “MOONG” as its trading symbol, reported SET Group Head, Issuer & Listing Department and mai President Chanitr Charnchainarong.
MOONG is a distributor and agent of world-class consumption products that has received ISO 9001:2000 certification in mother care and baby products. The company’s products have been popular in Thailand for more than 30 years, with continual total sales growth. The firm sells under trademark “Pigeon,” and distributes household and daily products, including Gerlach Poland stainless knives, “Foggy” and “Smile-V” water sprayer, sponges and B-care toothbrushes.
MOONG has a total paid-up capital of THB120 million (approx. USD3.57 million), consisting of 90 million existing common shares and 30 million capital increase shares, with a par value of THB1.00 each. At its initial public offering (IPO) on September 23-24, the company raised THB67.90 million (approx.USD2.02 million), by offering 28 million shares to the general public and patrons at THB2.30 per share and 2 million shares to its directors, executives, and employees at THB1.75 per share (The discount rate was not over 25% of the IPO price). The company's dividend payment policy is to pay no less than 50% of net profits after corporate income tax, legal reserves and other reserves. The company’s major shareholder is Mr. Sumeth Lersumitkul and his group, who hold 74.69% of the company’s total shares after the IPO.
