Prakob Phiencharoen Sombat Jiwariyavej
HSBC Thailand has appointed Prakob Phiencharoen as Head of Institutional Sales, Global Markets, and Sombat Jiwariyavej as Head of Debt Capital Markets, Global Capital Financing, with immediate effect.
With seven years of experience in Debt Capital Markets, Mr Phiencharoen will lead the Institutional Sales team to broaden Global Markets’ customer base and increase revenue for HSBC in Thailand. Prior to this role, Mr Phiencharoen spent three years as Head of Debt Capital Markets, establishing HSBC as a leading debt capital markets house in the Thai market. Mr Phiencharoen graduated with an MBA in Finance from the University of Florida in the US in 1993.
Mr Jiwariyavej replaced Mr Phiencharoen as Head of Debt Capital Markets, Global Capital Financing. Mr Jiwariyavej joined HSBC from Siam Commercial Bank where he was a vice president in the Global Investment Division, overseeing global investment policy and portfolios for the bank and its subsidiaries. He will work closely with the corporate banking team of HSBC to customise financing solutions to suit clients’ requirements. Mr Jiwariyavej spent eight years with Moody's Investors Service, in New York, London and Hong Kong, where he was responsible for the rating of structured finance transactions, specialising in securitisation and credit derivatives. Mr Jiwariyavej earned an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York in the US in 1997.
