Bangkok Bank launches new online channel for foreign currency account customers and extends the service to include four more currencies

Bangkok--13 Oct--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank has become the first bank in Thailand to introduce an internet banking facility for Foreign Currency Deposit (FCD) account holders. The bank has also expanded serviced currencies to the Danish Krone (DKK), Norwegian Krone (NOK), Swedish Krone (SEK) and New Zealand Dollar (NZD) to provide the most comprehensive currency service in Thailand, comprising 13 major currencies. Bangkok Bank Senior Vice President and Manager of Global Payment Services Department, Thanit Sirichote said Bangkok Bank FCD customers can now enjoy the security and convenience of Bualuang iBanking when making online transactions. Users can check their account balance, view their transaction history for the last 2 months and arrange fund transfers from their FCD account to their baht deposit account 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from anywhere in the world. “Bangkok Bank is the first and only bank in Thailand that offers online banking to FCD customers, part of our commitment to provide the best service. The new FCD account service provides another savings option for people in Thailand who hold foreign currencies or receive money from foreign countries.” “In addition to the new service channel, Bangkok Bank has also extended its FCD account services to four more currencies, namely the Danish Krone (DKK), Norwegian Krone (NOK), Swedish Krone (SEK) and New Zealand Dollar (NZD). The existing nine currencies are the US Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), British Pound (GBP), Hong Kong Dollar (KHD), Singapore Dollar (SGD), Swiss Franc (CHF), Australian Dollar (AUD), Canadian Dollar (CAD) and Japanese Yen (JPY). With 13 major currencies, Bangkok Bank provides the most options with FCD accounts for its customers,” Mr. Thanit added. Bangkok Bank will waive the deposit fee for customers, who open FCD accounts with foreign banknotes valued up to USD 5,000 or other currency equivalent and apply for Bualuang iBanking before 30 December, 2009. The Bank will also waive the account maintenance fee for customers who open FCD accounts now until 30 December. Customers will also receive a free multi-purpose i-Board clock after making their first funds transfer via Bualuang iBanking.
