To celebrate UN-HABITAT Day 2009, UNESCAP and GH Bank will be hosting an Asia-Pacific Housing Finance Network initiative on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Government Housing Bank (G H Bank) in Bangkok.
Khan Prachuabmoh, G H Bank’s president said that his Bank is happy to be participating in such an important event that will host delegates from countries from throughout the Asia-Pacific.
“We support UNESCAP’s initiative to help provide more access to and knowledge about housing financing for lower and middle income people in the region,” he said.
Somchai Sakulsurarat, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Finance, representing the Government of Thailand at this most important event will be providing the welcoming speech.
Annik Lambert, Secretary General of the International Union of Housing Finance (IUHF) and European Mortgage Federation (EMF) in Brussels, Belgium will provide the key-note address and the foreign delegates will be joined by more than 100 attendees from local housing and housing finance institutions.
Panelists from G H Bank, National Housing Authority (NHA) and Community Organization Development Institutes (CODI) will discuss issues about forming an Asia Pacific Housing Finance Network.
In addition, UNESCAP and GH Bank will be introducing a special issue of G H Bank Housing Journal that will focus on Pro-Poor Housing issues.
