The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will have a “SET in the City Zone” at the Money Expo Chiang Mai 2009 to introduce alternative investment channels to investors in the north. This event will be under the theme “Make small money increase with investment” during November 6-8.
“This program is aimed at investors in Chiang Mai, which has the highest trading activity in the North. This city’s trading value in August 2009 of THB7.75 billion (approx. USD231.96 million) was a 21% increase over that of the previous month. Not only that, Chiang Mai’s trading value continued to rise even more, with September’s value of THB10.93 million (approx. USD326.91 million) being an increase of 40% over that of August 2009. This shows Chiang Mai’s tremendous potential,” revealed Chief Marketing Officer, Markets & Post-Trade Services Sopawadee Lertmanaschai.
SET in the City in Money Expo, Chiang Mai provides activities in three zones, which are the SET Services Zone, introducing how to trade stocks, derivatives, gold futures, bonds, mutual funds; financial health check-up service, investment style test, investment by age, online service for an easy investment access; Zone2: I’m an Investor Zone, providing investment advice by specialists from securities firms, gold brokers, and asset management companies, which are Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) PCL, Country Group Securities PCL, Far East Securities Co., Ltd., YLG Bullion and Futures Co., Ltd., MTS Gold Futures Co., Ltd. and Seamico Securities PCL; Zone3: Investment Cafe Zone, providing seminars and discussions by leading analysts, investment direction, and investment strategies for the year of the tiger.
Moreover, participants will receive a guide on “10 outstanding stocks in 2009,” and a limited amount of a new book “Hello, Mutual Fund,” together with promotions and souvenirs for those making transaction in the event.
