The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed that 68 listed firms, with a combined market capitalization of THB800 billion (approx. USD23.93 billion), will join SET’s Opportunity Day program to provide information on their Q3/2009 performance. Of 68 companies, 54 have agreed to broadcast their performance results on the Live Opportunity Day Webcast, which will run on November 10, and November 16-30, a total of 11 days during 9.00-17.00 hours, on www.set.or.th/oppday .
“This new channel for listed firms to distribute their quarterly performance began in Q2/2009, has received great attention from all parties, and has encouraged more listed firms to join the Webcast,” revealed SET Group Head, Issuer & Listing Chanitr Charnchainarong.
“In Q3/2009, 68 listed companies joined Opportunity Day, an increase from the average of 58 firms/quarter. These 68 firms had a total market capitalization of THB800 billion, or 16% of total market capitalization.
“Meanwhile, in Q3/2009, 54 listed firms (43 on SET/ 11 on mai) joined Live Opportunity Day Webcast, up from the 47 companies in Q2/2009,” said Mr. Chanitr.
In Q3/2009, of 68 firms, 21 joined Opportunity Day for the first time, consisting of 15 from SET: Advanced Information Technology PCL (AIT), BFIT Securities PCL (BSEC), Country Group Securities PCL (CGS), City Steel PCL (CITI), IT CITY PCL (IT), Kang Yong Electric PCL (KYE), Lam Soon (Thailand) PCL (LST), Millcon Steel Industries PCL (MILL), Nawarat Patanakarn PCL (NWR), S&P Syndicate PCL (S&P), Seafco PCL (SEAFCO), SIS Distribution (THAILAND) PCL (SIS), SVI PCL (SVI), Thai Steel Cable PCL (TSC), United Palm Oil Industry PCL (UPOIC), and six from mai: Eternity Grand Logistics PCL (ETG), Kiattana Transport PCL (KIAT), Moong Pattana International PCL (MOONG), Stars Microelectronics (THAILAND) PCL (SMT), Star Sanitaryware PCL (STAR), and Tapaco PCL (TAPAC).
