Bangkok--11 Nov--Standard & Poor's The number of issuers poised for upgrades increased by 13 this past month to a total of 187 issuers globally, said an article published today by Standard & Poor's, titled "Upgrade Potential Across Credit Grades And Sectors (Premium)." "Although this is 58 fewer than the tally a year ago, upgrade potential gained some ground in October," said Diane Vazza, head of Standard & Poor's Global Fixed Income Research Group. "The total exceeded the trailing 12-month average for the first time in nearly two years." Potential upgrades are defined as issuers that have either a positive outlook or ratings on CreditWatch with positive implications across rating categories 'AA+' to 'B-'. Potential bond upgrades belonging to the 'B' rating category, including the 'B+', 'B', and 'B-' rating designations, continued to lead the list, constituting 43% of the total pool, followed by the 'BBB' rating category, which accounts for 26% of the total pool of potential bond upgrades.
