Tourists to be offered attractive promotions and privileges in Singapore when they spend with their Visa card
Visa is teaming up with the Singapore Tourism Board to celebrate Christmas and the New Year through the annual Christmas in the Tropics (CIT) event taking place from 7 November 2009 to 3 January 2010.
Tourists visiting Singapore during this period who make purchases with their Visa cards will enjoy promotions including shopping, dining and accommodation, catering to a spectacular holiday season getaway in Singapore.

We want Visa cardholders to have a good time and remember Singapore for its delicious culinary fare, exciting shopping benefits and world-class accommodations all year-round and especially during the ‘Christmas in the Tropics’ event.”
Visa cardholders spending a minimum of S$500 will stand a chance to enter a lucky draw with a grand prize of S$10,000. Winners will be drawn on 31 January 2010 and notified through mail and phone. The results will also be published on the Visa Go Explore website (www.visagoexplore.com/sg).

Accommodation
Visa cardholders can enjoy the third night free with a minimum two nights stay at Intercontinental Hotels. Visa Platinum, Visa Signature or Visa Infinite cardholders will get a free upgrade[2] when they book with their cards.
Cardholders enjoy a complimentary night’s stay at The St Regis Singapore when they book with their Visa Platinum, Visa Signature or Visa Infinite card.
For travelers planning to stay at the Hilton, they can get up to 25 percent discount off the best available rate when they book with their Visa Platinum, Visa Signature or Visa Infinite card.
Both promotions are valid until 31 December 2009.
In conjunction with STB, tourists booking their stay with a Visa card at 14 hotels along Orchard Road such as Four Seasons Hotel, Meritus Mandarin, Pan Pacific Orchard and Singapore Marriott Hotel and Traders Hotel, will get an additional night free.[3] The full list of participating hotels, validity dates and other terms and conditions can be found at www.visitsingapore.com/celebrate2009.
F&B
Singapore is a food lover’s paradise and Visa has arranged special offers for cardholders at 52 F&B outlets in the Marina Bay area. For example, Visa cardholders can enjoy a 15 percent discount off their total bill with various culinary fares ranging from Cantonese (Golden Peony Restaurant) to Italian fine dining (Capella or Forlino) to Brazilian barbeque (Carnivore Brazilian Churrascaria) amongst others.
Cardholders can also enjoy a one-for-one buffet lunch at the Indian restaurant, the Shah Maharani or get a one-for-one main course at Emmanuel Stroobant’s Singapore venture, SevenAteNight at the Esplanade.

Christmas in the Tropic ‘Grab and Go’ promotion
Shoppers who make purchases using Visa cards totaling S$300[4] or more in a single day from 7 November 2009 to 3 January 2010 (both dates inclusive), from any retail and F&B outlets will qualify for a contest where they can win over S$200,000 worth of shopping and travel vouchers.
Contestants must present their receipts at the registration booth in the CIT 2009 suitcase structure[5], which will open daily from 14 November 2009 to 3 January 2010 from 4pm to 10pm daily.
The contest will be conducted over a 3-hour time slot (5-8pm) from Monday to Thursday and a 4-hour time slot (5-9pm) from Friday to Sunday. Each contestant is allowed a fixed amount of time in the booth to grab as many coupons as they can.
Each coupon will be equivalent to a shopping or travel voucher and contestants are entitled to keep only one coupon of their choice from what they managed to grab.
As an additional bonus, contestants that charge all receipts to Visa will get double the amount of time in the booth.
Visa ‘Gift with Purchase’ promotion
There will also be a “Gift with Purchase” promotion run by Visa.
Under this promotion, booths will be set up at the Singapore Visitor Center @ Orchard, The Millenia Walk Shopping Mall redemption booth and the Tropics Atrium at Suntec City Mall for the redemption of the gifts.
Cardholders who make a minimum purchase of S$500[6] from any retail and F&B outlets will qualify for the free redemption of the “GET Singapore gift” (25 Hours watch worth S$99). Visa cardholders spending a minimum of S$500 will also stand a chance to enter a lucky draw with a grand prize of S$10,000.
