THAI together with Air Transport Organizations Enhance Air Traveling to Thailand

Bangkok--2 Dec--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited will co-host a seminar “Enhancing Air Traveling to Thailand” aimed at Chinese travel agents to discuss aviation and tourism. Government air transport organizations, led by the Ministry of Transportation together with Department of Civil Aviation, Airport of Thailand Public Company Limited and The Association of Thai Travel Agents and private sectors will join THAI at the seminar on 2-3 December 2009 at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel Mr. Chokchai Panyayong, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Strategy & Business Development Department said that THAI plays a crucial role in supporting Thailand tourism, particularly inbound tourists. The Chinese is ranked as the fifth strongest market globally. In January — June 2009, there are 331,614 Chinese tourists to Thailand. However, this figure is down by 37.81% over the same period of last year. “ We believe that this seminar will encourage Chinese travel agents to be the champions for inviting Chinese people to visit Thailand,” Mr. Panyayong said. The Republic of China has huge potential for tourism and other industries such as agriculture and manufacturing. China’s economic figures are growing drastically and continually. THAI believes that China is a potentially powerful market for Thailand because of its huge population and a GDP in year 2008 of approximately at USD 4.327 trillion. THAI, as the national flag carrier is very proud to be part of the close relationship between two countries. This close ties are created not only through trade but also through the economic, social and cultural relationship. The relationship between The Republic of China and Thailand is valuable and long lasting.
