True Group, Thailand's only fully-integrated telecommunications provider and leader in convergence, today announced their latest collaboration with China Mobile, the world's largest mobile operator in term of subscriber base, on 5G leadership. The latest collaborative effort is part of their strategic partnership scheme, established in September 2014, thus, marking their 5th anniversary of being together.
"To support True Group's vision to become the leader in 5G technology in Thailand, we need supports from China Mobile with regards to 5G business development and network preparation. As both parties are rushing to deploy 5G in China and Thailand, True can learn substantially from China Mobile's experience in terms of 5G network and technology, use cases for consumers and industry , best practices as well as training and exchange programs for employees and partners . Other benefits will come from their key competence deriving from customer and business partner engagement," said Mr.Vichaow Rakphongphairoj, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee, True Corporation Plc.

Today's collaboration will bring about future collaborations that mutually benefit both companies. True is now overall stronger with China Mobile as the new strategic partner, while China Mobile will benefit from the partnership deal in expanding its presence in regional and international markets. Future collaborations will be in the line of global sourcing of handsets and network equipment procurement, as well as expanding markets for digital content.
In their collaborative efforts since 2014, China Mobile and True Group have so far worked closely together in six key business areas: 1) Products/VAS/Content; 2) International Business; 3) Network; 4) Device Procurement; 5) General Procurement; and 6) Human Resources. The working groups will strive to mutually align their strategies for the relevant business areas to increase the benefits to both parties.
