กระทรวงการค้า อุตสาหกรรม และพลังงานของเกาหลีใต้ (MOTIE) เปิดเผยรายงานว่า ยอดส่งออกสินค้าหมวดเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ (ICT) ปรับตัวขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกในรอบ 14 เดือน โดยได้แรงหนุนจากการขยายตัวอย่างรวดเร็วของยอดส่งออกชิพและจอแสดงภาพ ซึ่งช่วยชดเชยการชะลอตัวลงของอุปสงค์ในตลาดสมาร์ทโฟน
รายงานระบุว่า ยอดส่งออกสินค้า ICT ปรับตัวขึ้น 3.3% ในเดือนพ.ย.เมื่อเทียบเป็นรายปี สู่ระดับ 1.48 หมื่นล้านดอลลาร์ ขณะที่ยอดนำเข้าสินค้า ICT ขยับขึ้น 0.5% สู่ระดับ 8.08 พันล้านดอลลาร์ ส่งผลให้ยอดเกินดุลการค้าของสินค้า ICT อยู่ที่ระดับ 6.72 พันล้านดอลลาร์ จากยอดเกินดุลการค้าของอุตสาหกรรมทุกภาคส่วนรวมกันทั้งสิ้น 8 พันล้านดอลลาร์
ทั้งนี้ ยอดส่งออกโทรศัพท์มือถือ ร่วงลง 27.4% สู่ระดับ 2.09 พันล้านดอลลาร์ เนื่องจากผลกระทบของการที่สมาร์ทโฟน Galaxy Note 7 ของบริษัทซัมซุง อิเลคโทรนิคส์ เกิดกรณีเครื่องร้อนและไฟลุกไหม้จนบริษัทต้องยุติการผลิต
อย่างไรก็ตาม ยอดส่งออกชิพพุ่งขึ้น 11.6% สู่ระดับ 5.79 พันล้านดอลลาร์ ซึ่งเป็นการขยายตัวด้วยตัวเลขสองหลักเป็นครั้งแรกในรอบ 22 เดือน เนื่องจากได้รับแรงหนุนจากราคาสินค้าที่ปรับตัวสูงขึ้นและอุปสงค์ที่แข็งแกร่ง
ขณะที่ยอดส่งออกจอแสดงภาพ ขยายตัว 3.1% แตะที่ 2.47 พันล้านดอลลาร์ ซึ่งเป็นการดีดตัวสู่แดนบวกครั้งแรกในรอบ 16 เดือน ด้วยแรงหนุนจากอุปสงค์อันแข็งแกร่งของตลาดหน้าจอ OLED ขณะที่ยอดส่งออกคอมพิวเตอร์และอุปกรณ์ต่อพ่วง ทะยานขึ้น 15.2% สู่ระดับ 660 ล้านดอลลาร์
สำหรับประเทศคู่ค้าแยกเป็นรายประเทศ ยอดส่งออกสินค้า ICT ไปยังเวียดนาม พุ่งขึ้น 42.2% สู่ระดับ 1.38 พันล้านดอลลาร์ ส่วนยอดส่งออกไปสหรัฐ ปรับตัวขึ้น 4.9% แตะ 1.48 พันล้านดอลลาร์ ขณะที่ยอดส่งออกไปจีน ซึ่งเป็นประเทศคู่ค้ารายใหญ่ที่สุดของเกาหลีใต้ ปรับตัวลดลง 3.6% และยอดส่งออกไปยังสหภาพยุโรป (EU) ลดลง 1.9% สำนักข่าวซินหัวรายงาน
S. Korean ICT exports rebound in 14 months despite weak smartphone demand
SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- South Korean exports of information and communications technology (ICT) products posted the first rebound in 14 months despite weak demand for smartphones that was offset by brisk exports of chips and display panels, a government report showed on Thursday.
The ICT exports increased 3.3 percent from a year earlier to 14.8 billion U.S. dollars in November, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).
Imports in the ICT sector inched up 0.5 percent to 8.08 billion dollars, sending the ICT trade surplus to 6.72 billion dollars that contributed the most to an 8 billion-dollar surplus in all industries.
Mobile phone exports tumbled 27.4 percent to 2.09 billion dollars as Samsung Electronics discontinued its latest Galaxy Note 7 smartphones on global reports of the devices catching fire and overheating.
However, chip exports expanded 11.6 percent to 5.79 billion dollars, posting the double-digit increase in 22 months thanks to higher product prices and strong demand.
Display panel shipments grew 3.1 percent to 2.47 billion dollars, the first rebound in 16 months on demand for OLED panels. Exports of computer and peripherals jumped 15.2 percent to 660 million dollars.
By country, ICT product shipments to Vietnam soared 42.2 percent to 1.38 billion dollars, with those to the United States rising 4.9 percent to 1.48 billion dollars.
