DAMASCUS -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad made a very rare visit to Moscow on Tuesday and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the first declared visit the embattled Syrian leader made since the beginning of the Syrian conflict, state news agency SANA said Wednesday.

TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei endorsed the landmark nuclear deal on Wednesday following the recent approval of the agreement by Iran's legislative bodies.

SANAA -- Rocket shelling allegedly by the Shiite Houthi group killed at least 14 civilians in Yemen's southern province of Taiz and wounded 70 others on Wednesday, medics and officials said.
