ตามที่ H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud มกุฎราชกุมาร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีคนที่ ๑ และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม ราชอาณาจักรซาอุดีอาระเบีย สิ้นพระชนม์เมื่อวันที่ ๒๒ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๔ นั้น
ในการนี้ เมื่อวันที่ ๒๒ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๔ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีข้อความสาร แสดงความเสียใจถึงสมเด็จพระราชาธิบดีแห่งราชอาณาจักรซาอุดีอาระเบีย และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ราชอาณาจักรซาอุดีอาระเบีย ดังนี้

I have learned with deep sorrow of the passing away of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the revered Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia whose great dedication and contribution for His country will be remembered in the history of the Kingdom and the heart of all Saudi citizens.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Your Majesty, all members of the Royal Family and the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this irreparable loss. May Allah the Almighty bless His Royal Highness’s soul for eternal rest in peace.
