ตามที่พรรค National ของนาย John Key นายกรัฐมนตรีนิวซีแลนด์ชนะการเลือกตั้งและได้เสียงข้างมากในสภาในการเลือกตั้งทั่วไปของนิวซีแลนด์ และรัฐบาลนิวซีแลนด์ชุดใหม่ได้เข้าพิธีสาบานตนเข้ารับตำแหน่งในวันที่ ๘ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๗ พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และพลเอกธนะศักดิ์ ปฏิมาประกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ จึงได้มีสารแสดงความยินดีเนื่องในโอกาสดังกล่าวถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีนิวซีแลนด์และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ตามลำดับ ดังนี้

On behalf of the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency my most sincere congratulations upon your historic election victory and swearing-in as Prime Minister of New Zealand for a third term.
I have every confidence that New Zealand under your leadership will continue to prosper and play a constructive and vigorous role in the Asia-Pacific region and the world at large.
As always, Thailand considers New Zealand a close friend and key partner. In recent years the cooperation between our two countries has grown from strength to strength and expanded in all dimensions, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
