พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรีได้มีสารแสดงความยินดีถึงนาย Baldwin Lonsdale เนื่องในโอกาสที่ได้รับเลือกตั้งเป็นประธานาธิบดีของวานูอาตูเมื่อวันที่ ๒๒ กันยายน ๒๕๕๗ ดังนี้
On behalf of the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I wish to convey to Your Excellency my sincere congratulations on your victory and assumption of the Presidency of the Republic of Vanuatu.
Thailand and Vanuatu have enjoyed cordial relations which have grown in recent years, particularly in the areas of trade and investment and development cooperation. The first official visit to Thailand by the Prime Minister of Vanuatu in 2013 and the hosting of the First Thailand-Pacific Island Countries Forum by Thailand in August this year, with the active participation and invaluable contribution of Vanuatu, are a few testimonials of a strong commitment to enhancing our partnership.
I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Vanuatu for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples.
