ตามที่เกิดเหตุการณ์เรือท่องเที่ยวจีนล่มกลางแม่น้ำแยงซีเกียงในเขตมณฑลหูเป่ย เมื่อวันที่ ๑ มิ.ย. ๒๕๕๘ นั้น พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และพลเอกธนะศักดิ์ ปฏิมาประกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจต่อกรณีดังกล่าว ดังนี้

I am deeply saddened by the news of the cruise ship accident in the Yangtze River in Hubei Province on 1 June 2015, causing loss of lives, injuries and missing people .
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the People of Thailand, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences and profound sympathy to Your Excellency and, through you, to the people of China who have lost their loved ones in this unfolding disaster. Thailand stands ready to assist China, in any possible way, at this difficult time.

I have the honour to extend my heartfelt condolences to you, and through you, to the Chinese people on the human losses, injuries and missing people caused by the capsized ship in the Yangtze River in Hubei Province on Monday night.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the People of Thailand, I wish to convey our thoughts and prayers to the bereaved families of the victims in this tragic accident. Our hearts also go to those injured and wish them speedy recovery in this time of sorrow.
