Bangkok--20 May--D&M MUSIC STUDIO Varbanov is graduated from The State Musical Academy — Sofia, Bulgaria, where he obtained his Master Degree. He was awarded First Prize at the Cleveland Inter-Tie Competition in Middlesbrough, England, as a member of the violin quartet “Violino”. He has participated in many violin recitals, chamber music concerts, orchestras in different cities in Bulgaria, England, Greece, Germany, Singapore and Thailand. In 1997 his name was listed in the first edition of “Who’s Who” in Bulgaria. Currently, Darin Varbanov teaches in Singapore at his Violin Art Studio. In 2008 he was appointed violin teacher at The School of the Arts, Singapore. In this recital, he will be performing on a violin which has been crafted by the bulgarian violin maker Andrian Andreev whose design inspiration came from an A. Stradivari violin dated 1715. His piano accpmpanist is Elena Metodieva graduated from The State Academy of Music, Sofia, Bulgaria, with a Master Degree in Piano. After graduation, she held the position of Assistant Professor in chamber music and piano at The State Academy of Music and The National Academy of Theatre and Cinema in Sofia, Bulgaria. Elena has participated in many concerts, playing in chamber music ensembles and performing as a soloist in both her own recitals and as a guest soloist with orchestras in many cities in Bulgaria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany. Moreover, she has been a participant in a Master Class which was dedicated to French Music and conducted by Jermain Mounie. Presently, Elena Metodieva teaches piano in Singapore. In 2008 she was appointed piano teacher at The School of the Arts, Singapore. This recital presents works by French composers whose music encompasses the differing styles from Baroque to Contemporary. The musicians’ artistic pursuits exemplify the beauty and specific coloring of the French Music, as well as demonstrate a true and inspired interpretation of the selected pieces. Concert programme includes works by: J. M. Leclair — Sonata “Le Tombeau”, C. Franck — Sonata , C. Saint Saens — Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, J. Francaix — Sonatina, M. Ravel — Tzigane.
