Thai Airways International Operates its First Flight to Land at Suvarnabhumi Airport on 3 December 2008

Bangkok--3 Dec--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited will operate its first flight to land at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, flight TG 2109, original route Phuket — U-Tapao, will be re-routed to PhuketBangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport). Flight TG 2109 will depart Phuket at 12.35 hrs and arrive Bangkok at 14.00 hrs. ACM Narongsak Sangapong, THAI’s Executive Vice President Corporate Secretariat Department and Acting President, said that due to the Airports of Thailand (AOT)’s announcement on the closure of Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airport due to protesters blockade, Thai Airways International had to cancel its inbound and outbound flight operations to the two airports since 25 November 2008. During this period, Thai Airways International operated special flights from U-Tapao International Airport in order to facilitate inconvenienced and stranded passengers. Today (3 December 2008), the Airports of Thailand (AOT) announced to resume normal operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Thai Airways International will operate its first flight to land at Suvarnabhumi Airport, on the route PhuketBangkok (Suvarnabhumi). TG 2109 will depart Phuket at 12.35 hrs and arrive Bangkok at 14.00 hrs, utilizing Boeing B747-400, carrying a total of 375 passengers (50 Royal Silk Class and 325 Economy Class).
