Mr. Kazuo Sekiguchi (3rd right), Executive Director, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Welfare Foundation (WSIWF) and executives from Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group in Thailand, awarded three grants to the researchers in Thailand for projects on traffic safety. Dr.Tairjing Siripanich, Secretary General of the Don’t Drive Drunk Foundation also witnessed the award presentation ceremony. This year, it is the first time that the grants will be awarded to researchers in Thailand.
The MSIWF grant is a distinctive research funding that focuses on traffic safety and senior citizen welfare. The grants target less-renowned researchers who have difficulties receiving aid/ grants from public organizations or other avenues. Criteria include originality, social significance and practicality. This year, a total of 48 grants were awarded - 3 of them to the researchers in Thailand
